Sustainability

The bicycle is the most environmentally friendly means of transportation and an important piece of the puzzle in the race towards Net Zero. With Bookman we are proud to be a facilitator in the race towards fossil free transportation. We hope to achieve this by encouraging travels by foot or bike by making them safer when dark and more exciting.

As long as the worlds emissions are kept above zero, the planet will continue to heat and that is why it is important to reach a state where the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere are balanced by permanent removal out of the atmosphere (net zero) as quickly as possible and by no later than 2050. This objective can only be met if everyone contributes to a global collaborative effort - and that means every business of every size, sector and geography, must do its part.

SME Climate Hub

To be listed at SME you need to commit to net zero by 2050 and half your emissions by 2030. We went a step longer and committed to net zero by 2030.

This includes the following key steps:
- Measure and estimate your current greenhouse gas emissions
- Set short and medium term targets for your emission reductions in line with the commitment
- Develop a plan to achieve your emission reduction targets
- Start to take concrete action to reduce your key emission sources and move toward the net zero target date you have selected
- Encourage other SMEs to do the same

Our Products

We strive for superior quality in all our products so you can use them for a very long time and reduce the impact on the environment by needing to consume less. Also we have since many years only been producing rechargeable products eliminating the need for single-use batteries. Currently we are also researching new exciting materials that will be kind to the environment and at the same time meet all the criteria needed in the demanding production process of lights.
